About Me

After thirty years leading global communications and PR for Fortune 500 technology companies, I left the corporate world to dedicate myself to my passion for writing and storytelling.

I write whatever strikes me, which is mostly on topics of family, faith, mental health, and what it means to be authentic in an artificial, media-saturated world. In addition to my blog Peaceable Man, I write the newsletter "Poor James's Almanack" on Substack under the penname James the Scrivener. My fiction and poetry have appeared in the Saturday Evening Post, the Sewanee Review, Red River Review, and other literary journals.
